Marking the DDA is an ongoing project during which I am working with artists Alan Maclean, Jo Jo Vagabondi, Robin Surgeoner to mark the 20th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination (DDA)

 

We have been working with adults with learning disabilities in the West Midlands, which will culminate in public performances, involving puppets, live music and live art, being made on the side of the galleries, with the groups in real time.

 



A very exciting project indeed, which will give a voice to those disabled people in the community who are not able to speak up for themselves.


Their voices will certainly be heard throughout the project and at the live performances, through art, music and performance.

As well as the participants creating their own artwork, I have been creating portraits of the people I meet, influenced by their amazing personalities and character. Here is some work in progress...
