Marking the DDA - West Midlands

Marking the DDA is an ongoing project during which I am working with artists Alan Maclean, Jo Jo Vagabondi, Robin Surgeoner to mark the 20th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination (DDA)

 

We have been working with adults with learning disabilities in the West Midlands, which will culminate in public performances, involving puppets, live music and live art, being made on the side of the galleries, with the groups in real time.

2015 Magna Carta Flag Commission - Lincolnshire

As part of the 'Radiating Signals' project, I was honoured to be asked to help design a new set of flags to celebrate the heritage and character of Lincolnshire towns.

During the project community groups from 10 locations across Lincolnshire joined me in workshops to help create artwork and designs for the flags.

 
The flags were unveiled on 13th June 2015.

2015 Even Coal Shimmers At Night Community Project

Supported by Arts Council England, 'Even Coal Shimmers at Night' has been a fantastic project to work on with staff and students from Brookwood & Hoyland Common Primary schools as well as artistic Partners; 'Think Create Move' and 'The Collaborators'



I worked within the schools running iPad art workshops during which the artwork was created for the project.

New Commission for the British Council

After my residency for Qatar, I was commissioned by the British Council to create an artwork that represented my unique experience of completing a lot of my residency away from the location due to problems with my health. Here is the result.



Part of the image depicts me wearing my sleeping breathing apparatus which I took with me during my trip to Qatar when I eventually managed to travel there.
